For large multi-projector
presentations, the ShowCase provides the best combination of manual and
automatic control of video sources. The ShowCase controls a wide band
component routing switcher and up to 6 dual mixing video format
converters like the Folsom Research VFC-2200 to form a versatile high
performance visual presentation system. Up to 32 component video sources
are supported that can be any mix of formats including NTSC, PAL, 720p
HDTV, 1080I HDTV, multitudes of computer formats, and just about any
other video format up to 1280 lines of resolution.
Video outputs can be set
independently to any progressive format up to 1024 lines or interlace
format up to 1080 lines to provide an optimum match to high resolution
video projectors. Input and output aspect ratios can be independently
specified, assuring correct geometry when dealing with mixed aspect
ratio signals. Inputs can be synchronously switched, mixed, or wiped
together, and can be resized and superimposed in window form. Input pan
and zoom are supported, allowing enlargement and cropping of sources.
Manual control is fast and straightforward and includes the ability to
recall complex preprogrammed sequences.
A powerful sequencing system is
provided that can operate either fully automatically or with
semiautomatic break point triggering. Sequence break points can be
triggered by keystroke, contact closure via 16 GPIs, or by other devices
via RS-422 or RS-232. Sequences can be nested, allowing preprogrammed
combinations to be used repeatedly during a presentation. Tally relays
are provided to signal o-air inputs. Key switches are high quality
magnetically operated reed switch type, illuminated by LED lamps that
never need replacement. Input power is universal, allowing the device to
be used anywhere in the world. Dual redundant power supplies are
standard for added reliability. The control panel measures only 21
inches wide by 16 inches deep. |
